What is The Real Run Foundation?
The Real Run program entails teaching the youth life skills and team work through basketball. While promoting tournaments we are also promoting becoming good citizens, and the need to participate and give back to your communities. Children are great imitators. The Real Run Foundation will surely give them something great to imitate.

DeAnthony Langston
DeAnthony Langston finished as one of the schools top career scorers, rebounders, and shot blockers. DeAnthony went on to have an illustrious career in Europe and Japan. He coached famed Verbum Dei all the way to the state championship in only his first year. Coached some of the top talent in California AAU history.
Melvin Nunnery
Melvin Nunnery is a native of Oxnard California. After his football career was cut short at the University of Southern California due to a football injury he founded the first NCAA approved sports recruiting social network. With the most recent deal to run all of China’s athletic and academic recruiting; SchollyME has become the largest recruiting social network in the world. Melvin Nunnery is a serial entrepreneur with investments primarily in the tech arena.
Bill Duffy
Bill has been involved in professional sports representation for over 20 years. He has parlayed a successful career as a player, from college days at Santa Clara University, to being named the Denver Nuggets fourth pick in the 1982 NBA Draft, into a position as one of the most successful and respected sports agents in the industry. NBA clients include Yao Ming, Steve Nash, R.J. Barrett, Joakim Noah, Zach LaVine, Luka Donicic, Patrick Beverly, and Rajon Rondo to name a few.
Tom Johnston
Born in Los Angeles into a large family of 13 children. Attended Catholic schools for 12 years. Between the advice and example of his parents, nuns and priests it was made clear to Tom that we are here to look after one another and make people's lives better. Beginning with helping at Dolores Mission school while still in grade school himself the family took on many social causes such as the Bracero program with Cesar Chavez. Tom's involvement with Verbum Dei High school for nearly 30 years, La Salle High School, Loyola High School, St. Thomas School, Dolores Mission School , Sacred Heart High School in Lincoln Heights, and recently The Grace Hopper Stem Academy for young girls in Inglewood has allowed him to see the wonderful improvement to the lives of others one person can make. Tom has worked in the television and movie business, home building, property management and fund raising for many charities around Los Angeles. Tom met DeAnthony Langston while on the Advisory Board at Verbum Dei.
Courtney Watson
Courtney Watson has been working in the field of sports medicine since 2000. Her passion and love for helping athletes and students accomplish their health goals through mentorship and leadership are her greatest attributes. Ms. Watson is currently in her sixth year as the Head Athletic Trainer for the WNBA's premier Los Angeles Sparks. Her skill set coupled with her love for basketball, boxing, baseball, and football has allowed her to serve some of the best athletes in the world.
